‘Diamond Heist Harry': Burlington police need ID of jewelry store thief
WANTED IN BURLINGTON —
Call him “Diamond Heist Harry”, like a character out of some funny Las Vegas gambling movie — wearing that goofy golf getup, calling himself “Harry Ellis”, and saying he’s a big-time gambler.
Seems all of that is fake. What’s very real though — is the $100,000 worth of diamonds Burlington police say he ripped-off from a jewelry store there.
Detectives say he illegally bought several diamonds with a prepaid credit card. He even made-off with one rock weighing over nine carats.
He wasn’t too stressed. The photo above shows him all calm and cool, leaning on the jewelry case.
Detectives think he’s in his late 20’s to early 30’s.
He claimed to be from Las Vegas, said he was a big gambler, and that his name was “Harry Ellis”.
