Ja’mari Jones: ‘Tuba Man’ killer arrested — wanted for Christmas Eve nightclub murder

Bellevue police say Ja’mari Jones was arrested Wednesday night by Lakewood police.

The convicted “Tuba Man” killer who’s now accused of gunning a guy down at a nightclub, was taken into custody during a routine traffic stop at 8 p.m. in the 10800 block of Pacific Highway South in Lakewood. Police ran Jones’ license plate and discovered the car, a Toyota Corolla, had been reported stolen from Auburn.

Police charged Jones with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting and killing of Deshawn Milliken on Christmas Eve morning. The incident left another man from Renton injured.

Bellevue police were notified of the arrest and Jones was transported to the Bellevue Police Department jail.

Jones was booked for Murder 2 and is being held on $5 million bond.

His girlfriend was also in the car during his arrest and she was booked for rendering criminal assistance.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN BELLEVUE Dec. 24, 2012 –
A warrant for murder has been issued for 19 year old, Ja’mari Jones, one of three teens who beat to death Ed ‘Tuba Man’ McMichael in 2008.

Now, he’s accused in the deadly Christmas Eve shooting at ‘Munchbar’ in Bellevue.

Just before 1 a.m., Bellevue Police were called to ‘Munchbar’ at Bellevue Square at 505 Bellevue Way, for reports of a shooting. Police confirm a 30-year old Seattle man was killed.  The other person injured was taken to Overlake Medical Center.

Police say he could be in a white Nissan Maxima with Washington license plates: AHZ1672

Police say about 600 people were inside the bar at the time of the shooting.

Before his murder in 2008, ‘Tuba Man’ was a beloved part of Seattle, playing outside sporting events and other events.

Jones, who was 16 at the time, along with 2 other teens, were sentenced to 15-36 weeks in juvenile detention.
